How to post a candidate listing to
NC-Politics.com

Candidate Profile Listings
..(enter a Candidate Profile)

FIRST - We ask that only candidates (or their designated representative) enter candidates profiles (for obvious reasons). In order to enter a listing an individual must first register with the site and provide a valid email address, you will receive an email confirmation that you must respone to in order to activate your regristration, you can then enter a candidate profile.

Next: Gather together the information that you want to enter. You will be asked the following questions (required data is noted with an "*").

  • Title: * - IMPORTANT: This MUST Include the CANDIDATE NAME and the OFFICE they are running for ...ONLY !
It should look like: George Washington for City Council
Do not enter anything else, not even the City / County name, that is taken care of elsewhere!
  • Description * - This will appear as "Candidate Introduction" at the TOP of your listing. Input a paragraph about the candidate This is your chance to tell voters something about the candidate.
  • # Days you want add to run: * - This controls when your "candidate profile ad" will expire / disappear. Here you need to consider if you are running in a primary, or unopposed for the general election. If you are to be in a primary; choose a number of days that ends immediately after the primary, Once you win the primary you will need to respond to the system reminder that your ad is expiring, and continue it until the end of the general election. If you do not win the primary, do nothing, the ad will expire on it's own. Note: we cannot check who won all the primaries across NC, out of respect for the process, please allow your ad to drop if you are eliminated in a primary.
  • Candidate Name * - Enter the candidate name as you want it to be known and appear in your candidate profile ad.
  • Running for: * - Select the Office you are running for, If it does not show in the dropdown box, choose "other" and send us an email naming the office you are running for, we'll fix that one right up!
  • Dist / Seat / Ward: - If you are running for a spedific seat/dist/ward, etc. please enter that data here. For instance, if you are running at large: enter "At Large". If this does not make sense for your race, leave it blank.
  • Party: * - Select your party, unless you are in a nonpartican race, in which case choose "N/A". If you are in a party that is not listed choose "other" and send us an email naming the party you are affiliated with.
  • Campaign Address: - Enter the address that you want voters (or anybody else) to see. Who knows, maybe they will send a donation !
