Candidate Profiles / Listing Policies
NC-Politics.com - Candidate Profile Listings
General policies and
service guidelines
The following general
guidelines were designed to insure our services are delivered in a FAIR and UNBIASED, timely, and
efficient manner to all customers.Additional
detailed "Terms of Service" are also available on a separate page, please read both carefully.
Profile Overview:
NC-Politics.com provides, as a no-charge service, the posting of a "Candidate Profile" (by candidates or designated representatives) of
candidate campaign
information relating to the candidate's position, and major issues, in addition to basic demographic data (same data as listed with the BOE).
NC-Politics.com provides, as
a public service, linkage (hosting
of links) to
campaign websites and/or BLOGS along with email links. Such links are input by and their accuracy is the sole responsibility of the candidate and/or individual that entered the profile. These linkages are not subject
to a fee schedule (i.e.,
"free"). NC-Politics.com reserves the right to include / exclude any
such site(s) at it's sole discretion.
Civil Conduct :
NC-Politics.com provides this service to allow candidates greater visibility and linkage to campaign websites / BLOGS as a service to
the public. We expect that all candidates will conduct themselves with the highest degree of integrity and "Play Fair", and
observe generally accepted rules of good conduct. NC-Politics.com reserves the right
to monitor all postings and interaction and at it's sole discretion take any actions deemed necessary to enforce it's interpretation
of good rules of conduct, without recourse. We have the last word, period. If you do not agree with these guidelines, you are
free to seek other online exposure resources.
Posting a Profile :
NC-Politics.com provides a standard "profile" that contains enough free text area to allow candidates to make the public aware of their
specific "Issues" and "Positions". These areas can be used to enter (almost...see above, and our Terms & Conditions) any information that
the candidate would like to publicly make available. NC-Politics "requires" very little (but some) information, other (most) fields of information
are "optional". We DO however, expect adherence to a few guidelines: (we hate to have to post this, but....)
You MUST "register on the site in order to input a "profile" and provide a VALID email. You WILL get an email to that box !
You MUST select a Region, County, Town, or Office that corresponds with your campaign.
You MAY NOT enter multiple profiles for the same candidate (unless the candidate is running in a district race that crosses county lines, like State House),
...in which case you "can" enter one per county, but it might make more sense to enter only one at the Region or State level. In any case,
do not enter more than 5 county profiles (choose 5 wisely, or use the Region or State levels).
The Profile field "Title" MUST Include the CANDIDATE NAME and the OFFICE they are running for ONLY ...nothing more! Adding more will
"mess-up" the ability of a voter to sort and seach...it works against you! If you add more, we "may" (or may not) change it, but it will
make your profile a lot less meaningful to a Google search, which is one of the reasons you have a profile in the first place...so..!
You MUST enter a VALID candidate name; false names, false candidates, or invalid entries will be removed.
Foul Language and Hate Speech will NOT be tolerated! (and we decide when the line is crossed, our standard, no recourse offered)
NC-Politics may change (add, delete, modify) any or all of these guidelines and/or any of it's Terms and Conditions, at any time, without notice, as is needed. It is the responsibility of the site user to be aware of any changes by reviewing these pages for any new information, updates, or changes.
If any of these guidelines and/or any of the site Terms and
Conditions are not followed it may result in profile deletion and/or account deactivation.
Note: If you use AOL mail you will need to "Cut & Paste" the account activation link we
send back to you into your browser address window. Some other "web-based" email systems also suffer this same issue, there is
nothing we can do about that, you must simply enter the address manually.
Some of our email links (on the site pages) assume that you operate a local SMTP email client (like: Outlook Express, or Outlook) and will
NOT work correctly with a "web-based" email client from your desktop...that's just the way it works! You can utilize our "form mail" links like the one shown below to send a form based message if you have problems with any of our standard SMTP email links!
